Christantus Uche Ignites Dominant Crystal Palace Win at Shelbourne.
Despite entering their first-ever continental campaign, Crystal Palace are adapting at a rapid pace. Missing star figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a comfortable win that all but secures them a place in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
A further victory in their next fixture against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to seal straight passage to the last 16, especially after a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Seize the Opportunity
This occasion provided a chance for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning after joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.
The Shelbourne team that had concluded their league season proved no match even for a mostly second-string Palace outfit. The Londoners were further depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg problems.

Despite torrential rain in Dublin, Palace rapidly took control. A slick move in the 11th minute, sparked by Daichi Kamada's incisive pass, allowed Nketiah to set up Uche for a simple tap-in.
Midfielder Adam Wharton came close soon after, fizzing a powerful effort over the bar. Nketiah then claimed for a penalty after bursting into the area, but the official waved away the protests.

The match was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
After the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring with his first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also blazed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still scope for development in his game.
The only worry for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise positive night for the traveling side.
